For what it's worth, this site is made by a privacy advocate. Unlike most of the web, we use self-hosted, open source analytics and a local, open source cookie consent solution. Our location service uses a giant local database that matches coordinates to places, instead of sending your IP to a third party for analysis. We go the extra mile to protect your privacy.

2. Data Controller

CH Web Development is the data controller and responsible for your personal data (collectively referred to as "CHWD", "CH Web Development", "we", "us" or "our" in this privacy policy).

5. Company internal network sharing

We reserve the right to transfer and use your data in other sites and services provided by the CH Web Development company. This is to allow single-sign-on and other perks for our users. This explicitly includes new sites, that might not exist at this point. You will be notified about data transfers, to allow you to make use of your legal rights.

6. Data Analytics

We use Matomo and Matomo tags for analytics and performance improvement purposes. No pixels or other tracking services are used.

7. User Profiles

Your profile on our website will be publicly visible, except for your real name and email address.

You can use social login buttons for user profiles. Use these at your own discretion and only if you agree to their privacy policy.

11. Third Party Data Processing

11.1 Vercel

We use Vercel on our website, a cloud deployment platform. The service provider is the American company Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789.

Vercel processes data from you, among others, also in the USA. We point out that, according to the European Court of Justice, there is currently no adequate level of protection for data transfer to the USA. This can be associated with various risks for the legality and security of data processing.

As the basis for data processing with recipients based in third countries (outside the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, in particular in the USA) or for data transfer there, Vercel uses so-called standard contractual clauses (= Art. 46 sec. 2 and 3 GDPR). Standard contractual clauses (Standard Contractual Clauses – SCC) are template provisions provided by the EU Commission and are meant to ensure that your data also comply with European data protection standards when they are delivered and stored in third countries (such as in the USA). By these clauses, Vercel commits to maintaining the European level of data protection, even if the data are stored, processed, and managed in the USA. These clauses are based on an implementing decision of the EU Commission.
